How often should I clean my carpet?
For residential carpet cleaning, we recommend a thorough carpet cleaning every 6-12 months depending on the amount of traffic you have in your home to preserve the life of your carpet. For commercial carpet cleaning we recommend much more frequent carpet cleaning to maintain the life of your carpet.
How often should I vacuum my carpet?
We recommend that you vacuum your carpet daily if possible. If you’re schedule does not allow daily, as much as you can. The more traffic you have, the higher the frequency needed to keep your carpet clean as long as possible. Dirt, dust, and other particles on your carpet will wear your carpet out much faster if not removed regularly. If you have kids or pets, you will need a regular carpet cleaning, even with regular vacuuming.
What should I use to spot clean my carpet between professional carpet cleanings?
We recommend club soda, or straight warm water. Do not over wet the carpet. Blot as much as possible or wipe lightly with a white towel. Remove as much of the spot as possible and get as much moisture out as you can by blotting with the towel. Hard scrubbing can damage the carpet fibers. Most soaps or detergents you buy at the retail store can leave a dirt attracting residue or even remove the stain resistance leaving your carpet more vulnerable to permanent staining. In severe cases, call us to come out as soon as possible for carpet cleaning.
I’ve heard that my carpet will get dirty fast after I’ve cleaned it. Is that true?
When you use a company like Colorado Cleaning & Restoration to clean your carpet, we use only the highest quality of pre-sprays and rinsing agents for carpet cleaning. With our high quality carpet cleaning products, there will be no dirt attracting residue left in your carpet to cause rapid re-soiling. Some professional carpet cleaning companies can leave a dirt attracting residue. Especially if the process used is completed incorrectly or steps for their carpet cleaning is skipped.
When I call for professional carpet cleaning, should I have a carpet protectant applied?
When having a professional carpet cleaning performed, always have a carpet protectant applied to your carpet. Carpet cleaning only removes soiling from your carpet. It does not prevent future soiling. In order to help prevent stains, wear & tear, and soiling from your carpet, a high quality carpet protectant is strongly recommended with any carpet cleaning service. Our experience has been over the years that customers who have us put on a protectant versus the customers who don’t have us put a protectant on their carpet looks better, cleans better, and lasts longer. Always have a carpet cleaning professional apply protectant to your carpet. It can make the difference in getting something out or not when you need to.
